So, you’ve landed on our site and you’re thinking about getting in touch with us about your design or website requirements and you’ve more than likely checked out the team page to see what we’re all about.
Here at Innovate, we’re great believers that team and office culture is a super important thing – in fact, decades of research has shown that a content and fulfilled workforce leads to increased productivity.
What’s a typical day in the Innovate studio like?
Depending on what day we’re going for, depends on how a typical day plays out.
Generally speaking though Stuart, John, Brad and Gina all get in before 9am, I rush up the stairs flustered at around 9.15am, after doing the double. That’s the school and nursery run to the uninitiated.
It’s usually this time that Gina comes in with the tray of morning cuppas to start the day right. The boys have coffee and the girls have tea. We have a short debate over the soundtrack of the day – sponsored by Spotify (I’m not allowed access, apparently there’s a high chance that there’d be a Whitney/Mariah/Madonna loop on) and we get our heads down on our individual ‘to-do’ lists.
Every Monday we have a morning meeting where we discuss any new business that John has sold, and report back on how current projects are running and discuss how the week ahead is looking.
Our roles go a little something like this – John makes introductions and sells our fantastic services, Jess plans, organises and speaks to the customers about their projects, Stuart and Gina make things look pretty and Brad ‘makes it work’.
We are generally all office based, though John is often out meeting with prospective new clients, our existing customers or at various networking events within Hampshire.
Where is this super creative office based?
We work out of a shared office building called The Incuhive Space, which is on the Chandlers Ford Industrial Estate. It’s a combination of office space, desk rental and studio space.
We’re in our own office but we’ve fully made it our own; we had a company come in to lay down new fancy flooring (goodbye blue tiled square carpet) and custom make us a workbench and book shelves. We’ve just had the walls re-painted ready for our new rebrand but we still need to adorn the walls with some sort of art, though it’s so subjective that we’re struggling to agree – and if we’ve gotta look at it every day it’s a decision we all need to agree on!
What are the perks to working at Innovate?
As well as a generally nice place to work, we get our birthday off, have plenty of team lunches and celebrate all of the important occasions…and lots of non-important ones too!
It’s also a really open and honest place to work – everyone gets their input in meetings and no idea is disregarded as silly. Unless it’s the one where John suggests getting girls in bikinis to deliver Innovate branded ice-lollies to all businesses on the industrial estate. In the Winter.
There are so many reasons to mention why we love working here, but you can read ten of them here.
Next time you’re in the Chandlers Ford area, why not come in and see us? Our door’s always open and the coffee pot is generally always on.
We’d love to meet with you and you can get a glimpse first-hand of how the team work in our little creative space. Whether it’s a quarter page advert, a 32-page brochure or a full website we put the same care and attention into it – if you drop by, you can see for yourself!
