After meeting with members of the Trinity Winchester team at a local networking event – our Account Director, John McMurray-Williams, felt inspired to take a day out of the Innovate Creative office to spend the day volunteering at the charity based in Durngate Place, Winchester.
Trinity provide practical and emotional support to around 700 people a year who experience the effects of homelessness or vulnerability; they aim to improve the lives of those affected by providing a place that people want to come to and an organisation that people want to support.
John joined a number of other local businesses, from in and around Winchester, to donate time to the organised community day on 30 June 2017. During his time at Trinity, John got busy helping to tidy up the community garden and also helped in preparing lunch. This is the second community day that has been organised by Community First as part of their Employee Volunteering Scheme.
John concludes, “In an area considered one of the most affluent and desirable places to live in the whole of the UK, I was shocked to hear of the level of homelessness in the City. Even as a small business in its early years of growth, we feel it’s important to give back to the wider community. Today has been both humbling and rewarding”.
